VPS Hosting

A Virtual Private Server is a hosting platform which looks, acts and feels exactly like a fully dedicated server but shares the resources used between other VPSs on the same machine.

Each VPS has a guaranteed amount of server resources but gives you access to bursts of resource when you need it.

Data that is passed over to the internet or received via the internet is called data transfer and counted towards the account quota. This includes but is not limited to hits/visits to hosted websites, emails received and sent along with files uploaded to the server via FTP.

This is the amount of CPU resources you will be guaranteed with your virtual server. Burst of more CPU usage is also allowed.

This is the amount of guaranteed RAM your virtual server will have. You will be given access to more RAM or swap in peak periods.
Burstable RAM	1 GB	2 GB	4 GB
This is the amount of guaranteed RAM your virtual server will have. You will be given access to more RAM or swap in peak periods.

By default you will be assigned two IPs, however, more IPs are available upon request (Up to 4 and Subject to RIPE) or they can be purchased.

We make weekly snapshot backups of your server suitable for disater recovery. You can also configure your own backups from your control panel.

Operating Systems

You have a choice of operating systems. We recommend and support cPanel, however, cPanel requires a license which is £12 a month or you can purchase separately.

Operating systems:

• CentOS-5 64 BIT with Cpanel
• CentOS-5 64 BIT with Webmin
• CentOS-5 64 BIT

We can install most operating systems, get in touch with Tom if you have any specific requirements.

Setup Time

Some of the server setup has to be manually configured by Orchard so it can take a few hours to process your order within office hours.
